Department of Basic Courses

About Us 

The Basic Courses Department adheres to the university motto of "Pursue Knowledge, Understand Truth, Cultivate Virtue, and Appreciate Beauty." In line with the goal of cultivating high-caliber, application-oriented talents, the department has built a faculty team characterized by high ethical standards, dedication to teaching, youthful vigor, a well-balanced structure in terms of academic titles and educational backgrounds, and strong professional competence.

The Basic Courses Department comprises two teaching divisions located in Jinan and Qufu. It includes three teaching and research sections (TRCs): College English, College Physial Education, and College Physics. These sections are responsible for teaching core foundational courses such as College English, College Physical Education, College Physics, and College Physics Experiments, as well as organizing and training students for academic competitions and sports activities.

The courses College English, College Physical Education, and College Physics have been recognized as University-Level Quality Courses (or: Boutique Courses). Several faculty members have been honored with titles such as "Double-Excellence Teachers," "Most Admirable Teachers," and "Models of Teacher Ethics." The College English, College Physics, and College Physical Education TRCs have successively been awarded the title of University-Level "Outstanding Teaching and Research Section." The department has also demonstrated distinctive achievements in developing first-class courses and integrating ideological and political elements into classroom teaching.

The Basic Courses Department consistently upholds a student-centered philosophy and is committed to a curriculum teaching approach that focuses on enhancing students' comprehensive applied abilities.
