About QIT

Qilu Institute of Technology (QIT), formerly known as Xingtan College of Qufu Normal University, has adhered to the development philosophy of "student-oriented, quality-oriented school-running, talent-driven revitalization, technology-powered development, culture-enriched prosperity, and law-based governance" since its establishment. Upholding the motto of "Pursuing Knowledge, Understanding Truth, Embracing Goodness, and Appreciating Beauty" and carrying forward the school spirit of "Advocating Virtue, Etiquette, Diligence, and Innovation," the university has comprehensively strengthened talent cultivation, scientific research, social service, cultural inheritance and innovation, and international exchanges and cooperation. In 2018, the university successfully passed the Undergraduate Teaching Qualification Assessmentconducted by the Ministry of Education with excellent results, and will undergo the Undergraduate Education Teaching Audit in 2025. It has ranked first among universities of the same type in Shandong’s Performance Assessment for High-Quality Development of Undergraduate Universities for three consecutive years. It placed second nationwide among peer universities in the 2026 ShanghaiRanking, and maintained the top position in the science and engineering categoryof the CUAA Alumni Association University Rankings for six consecutive years.

【Educational Conditions】

The university has two campuses: Jinan Campus and Qufu Campus. Jinan Campus is located in the Eastern University Town of Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province, backed by the Taihang Mountains, adjacent to the hometown of Li Qingzhao (a famous poetess in the Song Dynasty) and the birthplace of Longshan Culture. Qufu Campus is situated in Qufu City, the hometown of Confucius and the "Oriental Holy City." The total campus area covers over 1,600 mu (approximately 106.67 hectares), with a building area of over 400,000 square meters. It has 20 experimental teaching centers and 12 industrial colleges, and has signed industry-university-research cooperation agreements with 12 local governments, 15 academic institutions, 42 industries, and 528 enterprises. It has been approved as 2 Shandong Provincial Experimental Teaching Demonstration Centersand 3 Shandong Provincial Demonstration Internship (Training) Bases. The library has 2.32 million printed books, 2.11 million electronic books, and 26 databases. Nearly 100 million yuan has been invested to build a smart campus platform.

【Scale of Education】

The university comprises 11 schools and 1 department: School of Computer and Information Engineering, School of Intelligent Manufacturing and Control Engineering, School of Biology and Chemistry Engineering, School of Civil Engineering, School of Medicine, School of Business, School of Literature, School of Education, School of Art, School of Journalism and Communication, School of Marxism, and Basic Department. It offers 57 undergraduate programs, including 5 Shandong Provincial Characteristic Professional Colleges and 4 Shandong Provincial Modern Industry Colleges.

Among the current faculty, 49.94% hold senior professional titles, 94% have master's or doctoral degrees, and 62.05% are dual-qualified and dual-competent teachers (combining teaching ability with practical skills). There are 98 high-level talents at the provincial level or above, 2 Shandong Provincial Huang Danian-style Teacher Teams, 11 provincial science and technology innovation teams, and 2 Shandong Provincial Demonstrative Grassroots Teaching Organizations for Regular Undergraduate Universities.

【Scientific Research】

The university actively aligns with the major development strategies of the country and Shandong Province, continuously optimizing its discipline and major layout, forming a "V-shaped" discipline development structure with a focus on engineering and applied sciences. It has established 10 provincial-level innovation platforms, including the Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory of Industrial Big Data and Intelligent Manufacturing. The university has hosted and organized 4 international conferences and 8 national high-level forums.

【Talent Cultivation】

The university fully implements the fundamental task of fostering virtue through educationand has created a "Great Ideological and Political Education" system featuring "Party building as the guide, ideological enlightenment to shape souls, culture to nurture roots, practice to strengthen aspirations, and daily cultivation to foster integrity". It has constructed a "three-three-three" talent cultivation model for high-quality applied talents. Currently, it has 3 national first-class undergraduate program construction sites, 7 Shandong Provincial first-class undergraduate program construction sites, 13 national first-class undergraduate courses, 30 Shandong Provincial first-class undergraduate courses, and 10 Shandong Provincial curriculum ideological and political demonstration courses. And 2 provincial-level first-class textbooks for general higher education of Shandong ProvinceIt has won 1 second prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award, 2 special prizes and 18 first prizes of the Shandong Provincial Teaching Achievement Award. 【Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education】

The university has successively been approved as a Shandong Provincial Maker Space, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Demonstration Base, and Innovation Talent Cultivation Practice Base. In recent three years, students have won 3,811 awards at the provincial level or above in various disciplinary competitions. In the past two years, they have won 2 gold awards, 7 silver awards, and 24 bronze awards in the China International College Students' Innovation Competition. The graduate employment rate has remained above 97% for six consecutive years.

【Cultural Education】

The university has implemented three major Qilu cultural education projects: "Nine Ones," "Six Reds," and "Three Actions," and built an on-campus ideological and political and cultural experience platform featuring "Four Museums, One Hall, and Two Lobbies." It has opened a "Three Primary Colors" (red, green, blue) social practice corridor. 【 Social Service】

Since June 2014, the university has provided targeted support to the Qinghai Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture Vocational and Technical School, investing 6 million yuan to strengthen the construction of laboratories, libraries, and other facilities, and dispatching 14 batches of teachers to teach there. It has been accredited as a National Model University for Party Building and a national pilot university for comprehensive reform of the mechanism of fostering virtue through education.
