Tech University of Korea (TU KOREA) is a four-year distinctive university located in Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do, in the Seoul Capital Area of South Korea. Founded in 1998 with funding from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (formerly the Ministry of Industry and Resources), it is dedicated to engineering education. Since its establishment, the university has embodied a distinctive government-industry-academia collaboration ethos. It holds a special position in South Korea’s applied engineering education as well as its talent development programs for semiconductors and intelligent manufacturing. It has earned growing recognition for its practice-oriented teaching, industry-academia integration, and contributions to regional industrial upgrading. Currently, the university has around 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The number of international students from China, Vietnam, Mongolia and other countries is on a steady rise. These students study and grow together in an academic environment close to industrial sites, where hands-on competence and engineering standards are highly emphasized.

Tech University of Korea comprises multiple disciplinary clusters including Mechanical Engineering, Electronic, Electrical and New Energy Engineering, Computer and Game Engineering, New Materials and Life-Chemical Engineering, Industrial Design, and Business & E-Commerce. Through its gateway departments such as the International Future Engineering Division and the International Division, it offers tailored tracks for international students including System Design, Data Content, Digital Design, and International Business. Its programs comprehensively cover engineering and applied fields such as mechanical engineering, electronics, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, robotics, software, energy, materials, chemical engineering, design and business administration. The university provides a complete education system spanning bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. Its majors are closely aligned with South Korea’s future industrial landscape, including Semiconductor Engineering, Smart Factories, Future Mobility, AI Convergence, Mechatronics, Nano-Optical Engineering, and Industrial Design. It awards degrees in Engineering, Design, Business Administration and other disciplines.

The university is deeply committed to international exchanges and cooperation. Leveraging its industry-academy network of more than 20,000 nearby manufacturing enterprises, it connects classrooms directly to smart factories and R&D centers. It builds a cross-border platform integrating study abroad, internship and employment for students, effectively broadening their industry perspectives and cross-cultural communication capabilities.
