Shinhan University (SHU) is a private comprehensive university with a long-standing history and distinctive features. Situated in the core northern area of Gyeonggi-do in the Seoul Capital Area, it has its main campus in Uijeongbu-si and a subsidiary campus in Dongducheon-si, offering convenient commutes to downtown Seoul. The university was formed in 2014 through the merger of Shinheung University (founded in 1960) and Hanbuk University, tracing its institutional origins back to 1960. It holds a leading role in South Korea’s modern-day career-focused talent development and industry-academia-research collaboration. Recognized by both the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea and the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, Shinhan University has gained growing popularity among Asian international students for its outstanding performance in applied teaching, industrial cooperation and internationalized education. At present, the university has around 20,000 enrolled students, including more than 1,000 international students from China, Vietnam, Mongolia, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries and other regions, fostering a vibrant and diverse multicultural campus environment.

Shinhan University comprises multiple colleges including Humanities and Social Sciences, Global Business, Bio-Ecology & Healthcare, Nursing, Convergence Technology, Design & Arts, and Arts & Physical Education. Its disciplines cover humanities and social sciences, business and trade, natural sciences, healthcare, engineering technology, art and design, and physical education. The university operates a comprehensive degree programs spanning bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels, featuring a general graduate school and a special graduate school, as well as national-level professional doctoral programs. It offers career-oriented majors aligned closely with key South Korean industries, such as Global Trade and Management, Tourism Management, Future Automotive Engineering, Software Convergence, Clinical Pathology, Dental Hygiene, Optometry, Nursing, Beauty & Health, Industrial Design, Fashion Design, Performing Arts, Social Welfare, and Media & Journalism. Degrees including bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees are conferred.
