Dr. Hizar Subthain joined the Qilu Institute of Technology as an Associate Professor in 2025. He received his PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the College of Life Science and Technology at Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan, China, in 2018. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the College of Life Sciences at South China Agricultural University, Guangzhou, China, from 2019 to 2021. He then continued his postdoctoral research in the State Key Laboratory of Microbial Technology (Research Institute) at Shandong University, Qingdao, China, from 2021 to 2025. During this tenure, he was awarded the Qingdao Applied Postdoctoral Research Project and participated in a Key Project funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.

Dr. Hizar's research primarily focuses on metabolic biology, functional genetics, and the biosynthesis of high-value secondary natural products. He has published a research article in Nature Communications as an equal contributing author and co-authored numerous research papers and reviews in peer-reviewed journals, including Science Bulletin, Scientific Reports, and Engineering Microbiology. He holds the second authorship of a patent on a marine-derived antimicrobial peptide FD031 and its application.

Beyond his academic pursuits, Dr. Hizar Subthain has been actively involved in cultural and volunteer activities at both national and international levels.
