Dr. Haroon Rashid is an accomplished academic and researcher, currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at Qilu Institute of Technology, Jinan, China. He holds a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University, where his research centered on plasma-sprayed aluminum-based coatings—work that has been published in several leading international journals.

Before joining academia in China, Dr. Rashid contributed significantly to applied materials research at the Institute of Space Technology (IST), Islamabad, Pakistan. There, he was actively involved in failure analysis projects, focusing on the investigation of material degradation and component failures in aerospace and engineering systems. His work supported critical assessments of structural integrity and performance in demanding environments. He also briefly served as a Lab Engineer in the Surface Engineering Lab, where he assisted in experimental setups and material characterization.

In addition to his research endeavors, Dr. Rashid has lectured as a visiting faculty member at PMAS Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi. He earned his Master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from PIEAS, Islamabad, and his Bachelor’s in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from UET, Lahore. With a strong foundation in both research and teaching, he brings interdisciplinary expertise and a deep commitment to advancing materials science.
