Muhammad Sabil Farooq earned his Ph.D. in Sociology from Nankai University, China. He is proficient in Chinese, having studied the language at Nankai University and passed HSK 6, the highest level of language proficiency in China.

He currently serves as an Associate Professor and Senior Researcher at Qilu Institute of Technology, Jinan City, Shandong Province, P.R. China. He has extensive overseas teaching experience with different international universities.

His research interests include the Belt and Road Initiative, international trade, international relations, environmental issues, urbanization, quality education, gender equality, and women's empowerment. He has published several SSCI paper and monographs in well-known international journals and participated in many provincial, national and international research projects. He has supervised numerous national and international graduate and postgraduate students in their postgraduate thesis research, and publications.
