This program aims to cultivate talents who have basic knowledge of basic medicine and clinical medicine and have the abilities in applying the basic theory and skills of rehabilitation therapeutics in practice. Students majoring in rehabilitation therapeutics are both qualified in engaging in rehabilitation treatment in various types of hospitals and related rehabilitation institutions, as well as in research and development work in rehabilitation medical engineering organizations.

Program Learning Outcomes

At the completion of the program the student will:

Knowledge

Master basic knowledge of basic medicine, clinical medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, and profound knowledge of rehabilitation medicine necessary for the major;

Grasp the basic theory and basic knowledge of modern and traditional rehabilitation therapeutics.

Master the basic knowledge of literature search, data query and medical statistics;

Be familiar with the Chinese health work guidelines, policies and regulations.

2. Capacity

(1) Masters the operations of physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and traditional Chinese rehabilitation therapy;

(2) Master rehabilitation methods for musculoskeletal, neurological, and internal surgical disorders;

(3) Has a certain organization and management capabilities, and can coordinate with rehabilitation doctors, rehabilitation nurses, etc. to perform rehabilitation treatment.

(4) Master certain methods of community rehabilitation and rehabilitation and education, and to organise community rehabilitation activities;

(5) Integrate clinical practice, use information retrieval to acquire new knowledge, and understand the development of rehabilitation medicine, rehabilitation therapeutics and related disciplines;

(6) Has preliminary teaching and research capabilities.

3. Core skills

Rehabilitation assessment, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, language therapy, Chinese traditional rehabilitation therapy and other rehabilitation therapies methods and skills for rehabilitation treatment.
