On November 29, a delegation of 100 QIT students visit Confucius’ hometown Qufu City for the first Discovery Tour of Chinese Students to the Hometown of Confucius hosted by China Confucius Fund and All-China Studies’ Federation. The theme of this year is “Fulling the Chinese with Self-cultivation and Ambition”.

The opening ceremony begins at 8:00 a.m.. Leaders of the China Confucius Fund and 200 students from universities and colleges of China gathered in front of the Dacheng Hall, reading the Analects of Confucius and bowing to the statue of Confucius to show their respect and admiration to the great ideologist and educator in ancient China. Then their visits to the “San Kong”-- the Temple of Confucius, the Cemetery of Confucius, and the Kong Family Mansion to feel the extensive and profound Confucian culture and the charm of traditional Chinese culture. In the afternoon, the students attend two lecture about Confucius’ family instructions and family tradition of and Confucian classics provided by the Confucius Institute. From these lectures, students gain a further understanding of Confucius’ life and his works.

The students all say that they feel lucky to participate in such meaningful activities. Not only have they feel the charm of traditional Chinese culture, what they have learned from Confucius will also guide their study and living in the future.
