On June 6, renowned Prof. Muddappa Seetharama Gowda, Prof. Jiyuan Tao from Loyola University and Prof. G.Ravinaran from Indian Statistical Institute visited QIT and gave a report to the mathematics and applied mathematics majors.
In the report, Professor Tao first shared with the students his learning and working experience in the USA and then introduced the differences and connections between studying in China and abroad. His report was rich in content and easy to understand. His sense of humor, has been left a deep impression to the students. They also had a discussion with the students on issues they were interested with. After the report, they visited the campus and took pictures with the faculties and students.
Prof. Gowda is the tenured professor from The University of Maryland, his research covers the application of mathematical analysis, optimization theory and variational invariant. He is one of the founders in the field of linear and nonlinear complementary.
Prof. Tao is the tenured professor from Loyola University. His research covers matrix analysis, optimization theory, and complementarity problems of Jordan algebras.
Prof. Ravinaran is from Indian Statistical Institute Professor. His research covers game theory and statistics.
